Lalla Salma Foundation prizes

The Foundation Lalla Salma metes out every year two Awards on the occasion of the National Day against Cancer. Both prizes (the national and the international one) are awarded to leading figures, research centers or labs showing exceptional commitment and total implication in fighting cancer.

  • 2008

The 2008 National Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Professor Abdessadek Rabiah.

The 2008 International Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Professor Harald Zur Hansen, who got the Medicine Nobel Prize in 2008.

 

  • 2009

The 2009 National Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Sir Nizar Raouf Al Nakeeb.
The 2009 International Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Professor Jean Lemerle.

 

  • 2010

The 2010 National Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Professor Saïd Benchekroun, Clinical Director of the hematology-oncology department at the 20 Août Hospital in Casablanca.

The 2010 International Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Mr. Franz B. Humer, the CEO of Laboratory Roche worldwide.

 

  • 2011

The 2011 National Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Sister Thérèse Garnieron a par with Mr. Lahcen Houjr, respectively Supervisor of the Oncology Center in Ibn Rochd Casablanca hospital and INO Nursing Department Chief.

The 2011 International Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Dr. Hussein A. Gezairy, Director of the Regional Office representing the WHO in the Oriental Mediterranean Sea Region.

 

  • 2012

The 2012 National Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Fatima Dadsi Boutaleb, Founder of the association "Friends of the National Institute of Oncology"(Amino), she is also a biologist and teacher at the Rabat Faculty.

 

The 2012 International Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Doctor. Martine Piccart, Professor of Oncology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Head of the Department of Medicine at the Jules Bordet Institute in Brussels, and member of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Belgium.

 

  • 2013

The 2013 National Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awardedto the late Professor Mohamed Bensouda, founding member of Lalla Salma Foundation. He taught at Rabat Souissi Mohamed V University at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy. He was also a member of the Bureau of the Moroccan Surgery Society and a member of the Lalla Salma Foundation Scientific Council.

The 2013 International Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salmawas awardedto HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak,Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of the General Women’s Unionof the United Arab Emirates, in recognition of her contribution to the fight against cancer in Morocco.

 

  • 2014

The 2014 National Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Mrs Faiza Semmar, an active member of the volunteer program set up by the Lalla Salma Foundation, for her dedication and voluntary work with cancer patients.

 

The 2014 International Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Doctor Rengaswamy Sankaranarayanan, researcher at the International Agency for Research onCancer of the World Health Organization(WHO), known worldwide for his work on early detection of cervical cancer.

 

  • 2015

The 2015 National Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to MrBruno Perrussel, Director General of SHEM'S Advertising Agency.

 

The 2015 International Prize for the fight against cancer of HRH Princess Lalla Salma was awarded to Prof. Dominique Elias, Head of the Surgical Oncology Department at the Gustave Roussy Institute in France.
